Every city has its own traditional food flavor or special recipe that has been served for generations till now. But it is not easy to find food having that traditional flavor. Because nowadays every next shop in the cities with the same name serving the same dishes but not with that original flavor.

- Amber ki Goonji
Let us start with a sweet dish known as ‘Amer ki Goonji.’ It is a 100-year-old shop located in the heart of pink city Jaipur opposite Amber Fort. The shop is famous by the name Prem Khandelwal Misthan Bhandar (Madhures restaurant). The Goonji is made from mawa (condensed milk solid), cardamom, and grinded sugar. It is of two types; one is of white color which is less poached and the other is of brown color which is more poached. whenever you come to visit Amber Fort must try this sweet dish.

- Son Roll Gur Gajak and Son Gur Gajak
A sweet dish, which is the best-selling in winter, which people come from other cities or states to buy. Yes, we are talking about Gajak. Whenever you come to visit Jaipur in winter, then you must eat 2 special Gajaks from Narayan Ji Gajak Wale which is a 69-year-old shop. One is Son Roll Gur Gajakand second is Son Gur Gajak. It is a dry sweet made of sesame seeds (til) or peanuts and jaggery. You can store them for a few months in an airtight container and serve them as a dessert.

- Mohanthal/Moongthal
Mohanthal/Moongthal is a sweet dish made of gram flour, cardamom, saffron, and almonds. This is the oldest and most famous shop named Bhawar Lal Kailash Chand Halwai (Sondhiya Halwai) the fourth generation, serving the same tastiest dish even today.

- Gulab Sakari
A traditional Rajasthani sweet dessert served since the era of Kings. It is made with mawa (condensed milk solids). The addition of saffron, cardamom, and rose water imparts a delicate, heady fragrance. Whenever you come to these old lanes of Jaipur, then definitely visit Somilal Rawat Misthan Bhandar where you will find Gulab Sakari. It is about a 60 to 65-year-old shop.

- Kulhad Wali Lassi
If you are here in the summer days and are looking for some sweet Punjabi dish then you must try the famous Lassi of Sardar Ji Lassi Sharbat (Jai Hind Sharbat Lassi) located in the old Jaipur. It is served chilled in the handleless clay cup, kulhad. Two types of lassi are available here, which are quite famous here. One is a Simple Lassi which is a bit sour like our house, in which cream is poured on top, and almonds and pistachios are added. The second one is Rabri Lassi which has the same dry fruits and cream on top, and the saffron flavor is mixed in it.

Sour-Sweet and Spicy Dishes
- Hing Kachori
Now let us taste something sour-sweet and spicy dishes. The most common dish every Indian eats for breakfast or on occasion is Aloo or Daal Kachori. But this is Hing (asafetida) kachori which Pooran Ji Kachori Wala has been selling since 59 years. The special thing about this Kachori is that even if you keep it for a week, it will not go bad. Hot asafetida kachori is served with thick cold yogurt. Crispy and delicious to eat. It is true that it is oily, but even after that people eat Kachori with great fervor.

- Moong Dal Golgappa
The most common and famous dish in India is a sour-sweet and crispy dish known as Puchka, Pani Patasi, Panipuri, or Golgappa. You will find it mostly everywhere in Jaipur. Whenever you come to visit Albert Hall or go shopping in Bapu Bazaar, then definitely enjoy Moong Dal Golgappas of the famous shop Laxmi Chat Bhandar which is 60 years old shop. You will get only 3 Golgappas in 3 different flavors. The first one is Golgappa with sour water, the second with sour-sweet chutney (sauce), and the last one is with yogurt, green chutney, sour-sweet chutney, and beetroot to make it look more beautiful.

- Dal Pakodas
It is the most popular snack in India. it is crispy on the outside and soft inside. If you have not tasted the crispy Dal Pakodas, then you have missed a lot of great tastes in Jaipur. Jagannath Sharma Pakodi Wale is a 100-year-old shop selling these hot, crispy, and yummy fresh Dal Pakodas with mint chutney.
